What is written is permanent, and spreads itself further by far—for time, place, and people—than the voice can reach.

My mama repeatedly reminded us children, “Your name and your words will go much farther than does your face, so be careful.” She was a wise woman. Another of her teachings was that we wouldn’t know upon whom we would depend to give us our last drink of water in this life, so we were to treat everyone with kindness. I surely do miss her!
A wise woman indeed.
