To the praise of his glorious grace

Paul doesn’t want us to lose sight of why God has done what he’s done or promised what he’s promised. At the end of a rather long sentence (in the Greek), he says, To the praise of his glory (Eph 1:14). Let us never forget that the primary purpose of our salvation is for the glory of God. We are not the main characters in history. We are not saved and blessed for our glory but for God’s glory.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Eph 1:3). Amen.
