Books about our strange new world
I have read Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self: Cultural Amnesia, Expressive Individualism, and the Road to Sexual Revolution, and Strange New World: How Thinkers and Activists Redefined Identity and Sparked the Sexual Revolution. I recommend all three, though you can skip The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self because Strange New World is the same material repurposed by Carl Trueman for a general audience.
Having watched Matt Walsh’s documentary, What Is a Woman?, I’m currently reading his book by the same title, which I’ve appreciated more than the film after four chapters.
Next on my list is Affirming God’s Image: Addressing the Transgender Question with Science and Scripture.
In a world where “conversion therapy” is condemned—that is, calling a boy a boy and a girl a girl—and “gender-affirming therapy” is applauded and aggressively promoted—that is, calling a boy a girl and a girl a boy—Christians desperately need to understand what is happening. Better yet, we need to develop a biblical worldview and response.
