Support the Podcast

  • This page was created to provide information and full disclosure to would-be contributors.

The Coffee & Cigarettes podcast is listener-supported. Unlike most of your entertainment–where you have to pay in advance only to discover in the end it wasn’t worth your hard-earned money–every episode of my podcast is free. You get to listen and then decide for yourself what you think it’s worth. If you enjoy the show, please consider making a small contribution. After all, I may not charge for this content, but I work just as hard to bring it to you.

All donations made are recorded here. The target amount of $5,655 is based on this equation: The average amount of time spent creating a new episode of the podcast (approximately 3 hours) x the number of episodes per week (5) x the number of weeks in a year (52) x the Federal minimum wage ($7.25/hour) = $5,655 (targeted goal for the year)

Think of it this way. If there are 1,000 listeners per episode, a contribution of merely two cents from each listener of every episode throughout the whole year would result in reaching the targeted goal. Some podcasters charge ninety-nine cents just to listen to a single episode.

Revenue generated from the advertisements on this website are only used to cover the expenses of the site (hosting, domain registration, etc.). This revenue does not cover any personal expenses including the purchase of podcasting equipment or the hiring of voice-over artists and musicians. In fact, these costs are not even factored into the targeted goal for the year (shown above).

All contributors–unless they specifically ask to remain anonymous–will be listed here as well. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated!
