“Change We Can Believe in” – Can You Smell What Barack is Cookin’?

A Must-Read!

With all the media coverage of Senator Barack Obama, it’s hard to believe that no one knows who he is and what he stands for. It seems that with one of the most recognizable names in the United States, Barack Obama, along with his policies, would be fully scrutinized, especially since he could be the next leader of the free world. But there has been no scrutiny. As a matter of fact, Obama has received a virtual free pass on all tough questions. Despite this, he has managed to make some mistakes that would almost certainly kill his chances of election, if it were not for the fact that these mistakes go unnoticed by the vast majority of media outlets.

Besides the flirtatious courtship between Obama and the press, he has managed to catch another break. He has become a frontrunner without publicizing what he plans to do if he is elected. Sure he has fluffy rhetoric that revolves around his famous slogan, “Change we can believe in,” and he spins this enchanted web of dreams that puts him in the center of a massive utopian overhaul of our government. But he never reveals to the masses how he plans to do this. Why? Because he knows that his policies are so outrageous that only the radical left and those who have pledged their allegiance to the United States of Obama will vote for him if they are revealed.

As I began to delve into his detailed plans a little more closely, it became clear to me just how radical Senator Obama really is. Here are a few examples.

Foreign Policy

Obama’s lack of experience in foreign policy is a major concern to most conservatives and even to some level-headed left wingers. Over the course of this past week, he has tried to quell the criticism by touring Iraq and making a few other stops in the Middle East and Europe. Even though the media did quite a spin job on this trip by hyping up the event, even more concerns have surfaced in light of his actions. The man has acted as though he is president when not only has he not been inaugurated, but he hasn’t even been elected yet. And he decided not to visit hospitalized American troops after he was informed that he could not bring cameras and reporters into the hospital with him. He’s such a sincere guy.

On top of this, Obama’s plan to pull out troops on a 16 month time-table is very irresponsible. Now, we all hope that the Iraqi government and military will be self-sustainable in 16 months, but what if they aren’t? What if they still need our support after the 16 month deadline? Well, it seems that Obama, at least by his latest position, would pull troops out even if they are still needed.

Obama has also stated that he would meet with leaders like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad without conditions. Now, I understand that presidents of the past have met with tyrannical leaders before, but only under conditions that they meet certain criteria and never to negototiate or appease. Obama’s desire to encourage leaders like Ahmadinejad to become productive players on the world scene may seem noble, but it’s not so much noble as it is naive and irresponsible.

The Environment

Of course Obama has latched on to the typical liberal ideologies of saving the planet from impending doom. Irresponsible humans have slowly been killing Mother Nature with our societal advancements, and we should revert to primitive life, live in harmony with the animals and elements, and wear tie-dye t-shirts and Roman sandals. Yeah, yeah. I got it.

But I want to focus on a particularly disturbing plan that Obama wants to implement as president. It’s called a Cap-and-Trade policy. This system is designed to lower emissions from large “polluters” with an oversized carbon footprint. A Cap-and-Trade system, in simple terms, sets a target reduction on emissions and forces companies to buy privileges to exceed their emissions limits. When they purchase rights to pollute more, they simply pass the additional costs to the consumers, and this filters down either directly or indirectly to you and me. What does this mean? Even higher energy prices. And, I thought Democrats were so sympathetic and understanding to $4/gallon gasoline.

Healthcare

Everyone knows that Obama is an advocate for socialized medicine, and WE all know that this means longer lines, decreased pay for doctors (which equals fewer brilliant minds in the field), less money to buy the latest equipment, and no more outstanding medical facilities. Goodbye greatest healthcare system in the world. Hello Europe!

What you may not know, however, is how much this universal healthcare plan will cost. Only a scant $65 billion per year. That’s right. And we have to pay the bill. Not exactly free healthcare is it?

Fiscal Policy

There are quite a few rediculous bullets loaded in Obama’s fiscal guns like the afore mentioned healthcare plan, but some stick out a little more than others, like his tax plan, which will cost the U.S. Treasury $85 billion per year. Or maybe his economic stimulus plan that will cost us $75 billion per year.

Sure these policies and programs are outrageous, especially in a time when democrats say our economy is in the dumps. It’s the ideology behind these policies, however, that are astonishingly socialist. The amount of redistribution of wealth that Obama plans is the boldest step toward pure socialism ever attempted.

Obama’s wonderful abilities to read a teleprompter don’t exactly qualify him to be president. Most of us know that. But it seems that too many people have fallen for him in this liberal love affair. I’ve never seen anything like it. I do have to give the man credit in one aspect of his campaign. His slogan is absolutely true. Obama will change things, and you can believe it. The change, though, will be unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed in America, and it most definately won’t be for the benefit of the country.

Fantastic article! It’s got that kind of witty, humorous delivery I like, but (unlike Obama speeches) has a whole lot of substance to go with it. Great title, too.

Seriously, though. I know we’ve had some pretty lousy presidents in the past, but an Obamanation will truly be a scary place to live. We’re not talking about Democrat/Republican anymore. We’re talking about European-Socialism/American-Capitalism now. That’s how far out there this guy is. May God be with us.

Jeremy – - excellent job – - this is Obama’s true achilles heel: his record and his proposals – - the more we help the Democrats get out Obama’s message, the better off we will be – - Jay

C’mon, now. Apparently they do, if you’re the DNC, Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, Tinseltown, academia and anyone else who either swoons over him and/or supports him.

Think of it: Barack Obama, bestest-coolest-teleprompter-reader-in-chief.

Has a nice ring to it.

    That’s funny, “CKA”.

Jay, I just want to clarify that my buddy Vinson Howell wrote this one. I’ve got to give credit where credit is due.
