I am getting really tired of this woman. I can understand why there are websites devoted to anti-Pelosi rhetoric. There’s no question that Americans are tired of paying what we are paying for gas. There should be no question that we still need oil at this point. So, using our God-given common sense, the great majority of Americans support drilling here and drilling now.
Good ol’ George W. Bush has even seen the light and has lifted the drilling ban. But then there’s Nancy Pelosi who is sticking to politics as usual. Last Tuesday, Pelosi sent a letter to Bush urging him to release a “small portion” of the nation’s 706 million barrels of strategic-reserve oil to bring down prices. This is the entirety of her great plan. Let me explain it to you.
The United States stockpiles enough oil to last us 58 days in case of an emergency. We might think an emergency of that magnitude could never happen, but let’s face reality here. For example, Hugo Chavez has threatened as recently as last Sunday to cut us off. What if that was happen? What would we do then without our reserves, Miss Pelosi?
Nancy Pelosi has blocked efforts to open Alaska to drilling, denounced fossil fuels, blamed oil companies for high gas prices, and condemned speculators. I have faith that Bush will put her proposal in the trash right where it belongs but she will still remain and be just as adamant with her position.
In the spirit of retaliation, I would like to publicly display her phone number in the exact same way she did President Bush’s number. I urge you to call her and let her know what you think.
