If you’ve paid any attention to the news or talk radio today, you’ve probably heard enough about this whole thing. Everyone has pointed out the double standard; that if Jackson were white, there would be tremendous backlash. But I notice something else in this which I have not heard anyone mention. This man is supposed to be a preacher. In fact, he goes by the title “reverend”. There’s nothing to revere about this man (or any man, for that matter). The only one who can properly be called “reverend” is God (Psalm 111:9). Anyway, I don’t have much respect for this so-called preacher.
Bradley LaShawn Fowler of Canton, Michigan is seeking $60 million from Zondervan and another $10 million from Thomas Nelson Publishing in lawsuits filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He claims the Bible’s references to homosexuality as a sin have made him an outcast to his family and contributed [...]
DISCLAIMER: Before I begin, I would like to point out that I do not like to refer to different races with hyphens. The terms European-American, African-American, and the slew of other politically correct racial terms simply seem unecessary since one is either an American or not. Where a man’s ancestors came from do [...]
There is a lot of backlash. Both MSNBC and CNN have had multiple people on who have harshly derided Jackson’s remarks, and have flashed on Jackson’s own son’s public disownership and rebuke of his dad.
What I want to know is where is your post about McCain’s economic advisor calling all of us whiners, and that this economic downturn is all in our heads? I would think that would be more infuriating that some ridiculous comments by a man no one really takes seriously anymore.
When I heard these remarks by Jackson this morning I didn’t even think it was newsworthy. I don’t care what he thinks of Obama. I’m just appalled by a supposed Christian minister talking this way.
As for the Phil Gramm comments, well, I’m not fair and balanced. I don’t think his statement was even as bad as Obama’s bitter-clinging-to-religion speech, but I don’t approve either. I let a lot of news go by without commenting and that happened to be one of them.

That’s the thing Jeremy, he’s not a preacher. He cries wolf in order to not have to get a real job.
Also, I don’t understand how you could possibly take that out of context.
